CAP & GOWN

Cap & Gown sells slightly used graduation sets to graduating seniors and MBA students. The company was founded in 2005 and has been growing ever since. Chris Kobus took over all operations of Cap & Gown after founder, Ori Zohar, graduated. Chris is a sophomore and co- president of the Maryland Undergraduate Society of Entrepreneurs (MUSE). MBAfinder assists employers in finding high quality and talented individuals to assist with short-term business projects. Talented MBA students from the Robert H. Smith School of Business are available for short- to medium-term hire to help with business related research and projects.

 

MBAfinder provides access to temporary job opportunities where students can leverage their business skills while earning some money. Employers are looking for talented MBA students to perform short- to mid-term projects in the areas of marketing, strategy, finance, accounting, and operations.

 

MBAfinder is a service open to all students from the Robert H. Smith School of Business, either at the MBA (graduate) or undergraduate level.

THE SMITH STORE

The Smith Store is dedicated to promoting the Smith brand and student entrepreneurship. The business is split into two divisions: retail sales and group sales. Tarak Dave, a senior, manages retail sales while Jeff Berenholtz and Michael Holzheimer, both juniors at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, lead group sales. The Smith Store is entirely student-run and offers undergraduate students the opportunity to learn new skills in an entrepreneurial business.

Currently, the store offers promotional Smith-branded clothing and accessories through a full-service Web site and school store located in 3570 Van Munching Hall. The Smith Store also provides promotional product advice and sales support to Smith School departmental customers, as well as other departments within and outside the University of Maryland in College Park.
