Portfolio Companies

Portfolio Companies have a close partnership and lasting relationship with the Dingman Center.  Portfolio Companies are run by Past Dingman Scholars and others with close ties with the center.  Portfolio Companies have the opportunity to be mentored and advised by our expert Entrepreneurs in Residence and the chance to gain small amount of capital from the center.

UMD Community Companies

UMD Community Companies were formed and are operated by University of Maryland alumni, students, faculty and staff.  These entrepreneurial businesses receive a variety of assitance and support from the Dingman Center.

Student Businesses

Student Businesses are owned and operated by undergraduate and graduate Smith School students during their tenure at the University. The Dingman Center provides guidance and support to these young entrepreneurs in hopes that they continue to pursue an entrepreneurial path.

Assisted Companies

Assisted Companies consist of local entrepreneurs from the Maryland and DC metro area. The Dingman Center has helped these start-up or expereinced entrepreneurs get to the next level through the CAN or Mentor Program.
