Enter query creation mode: you can create a timebox by simply drawing it on the query space: put the mouse at the desired location of the upper left-hand corner of the timebox, drag it to the lower right-hand corner, and release the button. The query will be executed immediately after you release the button
The price plot shows that the 4 companies stocks followed about the same trends until January 2003. After January 2003, the variance between prices changes has increased. Legg Mason (Orange-first graph) has skyrocketed after January 2003. Citigroup (blue) had a moderate post January 2003 upward trends. The period considered (orange box –bottom) is from July 1999 to April 2004.
TimeSearcher lets you also query pattern in series. In the picture below, I want to search for pattern similar than Citigroup during the period queried (red box). I specified a degree of tolerance of 10%.
The green triangle shows the pattern I selected (red line in red box). The lines highlighted in red outside of the red box have patterns similar to the one I queried assuming a 10% degree of tolerance.
