Who we
are...
The Logistics, Transportation and Supply
Chain Management Society is a
student-run, student-elected
undergraduate organization in the Robert
H. Smith School of Business at the
University of Maryland.
What we do...
The LTSCM Society holds weekly meetings
where guest speakers address members in
an effort to provide insight to the
Logistics, Transportation, and Supply
Chain Management field. In addition,
each fall the Society hosts INDUSTRY
DAY, a career fair that includes an
award presentation for the LTSCM Person
of the Year as well as a networking
lunch for alumni, students and
recruiters.
Our Mission Statement...
LTSCM provides real-world exposure and
opportunities to LTSCM students through
industry speakers, networking events
with professionals and alumni, and field
trips; builds community and mentorship among LTSCM students
while developing mutually beneficial corporate
relationships in the LTSCM field; and consistently expands and improves the
organization's services, procedures, and
professionalism.
Why
should you consider a career in Supply
Chain/Logistics?
The University of Maryland’s LTSCM
program ranks #3 in research
(Transportation Journal) and #7 in
Supply Chain Management/Logistics
undergrad programs (US News and World
Report 2007). The average starting
salary for 2007/2008 R. H. Smith LTSCM
undergraduates was $51,833 and
scholarships are readily available for
qualified students. The curriculum is
state-of-the art and includes extensive
hands-on work with cutting edge supply
chain information technology, including
Oracle and SAP, in our supply chain lab.
Students benefit from smaller class
sizes and much greater contact with
faculty. They can take part in numerous
programs and events that put the
students face to face with industry
experts and recruiters.
Our highly regarded program attracts top
employers and the job opportunities are
excellent, particularly for females and
minorities.
