Smith School Launches Center for
Social Value Creation
The Robert H. Smith School of Business launched the Center for Social Value Creation
this fall with an event in Washington, D.C., where more than 250
business leaders, nonprofit executives, policy makers and academics
gathered for a one-day forum about creating, leading and sustaining
organizations for social impact.
Smith MBAs Make
a Global Impact with Internships
“My project required me to look for atypical solutions outside of
the traditional finance sphere. I ended up using quite a bit of
theory imparted from the operational finance class, which ended up
playing an integral role in my solution. In addition, I think that
my earlier participation in social venture consulting and case
competitions really afforded practical and applicable project
management and strategic frameworks," said Lauren DeStefano who
completed her summer internship at Intel Corporation.
MBA Leads to Higher Salaries
for IT Professionals
An IT professional with an MBA degree earns 46 percent more than a
counterpart with only a bachelors degree and 37 percent more than one with
any other masters degree, according to the study, published in a recent Management Science journal.
