Lotus Notes Account
This account is used to access e-mail, the BMGT Public Address Book and other databases. Every account is created
with a quota according to your role in the Business
School and an entry (a "profile") in our BMGT Public Address Book. For
information about how to update that information or if you wish
to forward your mail to another account, see BMGT profile. For other questions or problems with Lotus Notes accounts,
contact the Smith IT Help Desk.
When you leave the Smith School
Your Novell and Lotus Notes email
accounts will be disabled 30 days from your last day of employment.
Make sure to copy or remove any important personal information as
you will not have access to it after this date.

Please be sure to do this BEFORE your accounts are removed!
Your Lotus Notes
Account contains 2 passwords, one for the Lotus Notes Client and another
one for Lotus Notes "Internet". Any time you need access your Notes
account via internet, such as iNotes and
Quickplace, you will
you this password. When you first
receive your account, the Notes password is the same as your Domino
password. Changing your Notes password will not affect your Domino
password. You can change your Domino password in your student profile
located in the BMGT Public Address Book.
Your Notes Internet password is also used to log into
eAlumni Network and
MBA Network.
Postini - Spam filter
Postini is a SPAM filtering service that is provided with your Smith
Notes
account. If you have a Smith Lotus Notes account,
your Postini
account has already been set up for you with default settings to begin filtering
spam and viruses. You do not need to do anything to begin using this
service. Once it begins filtering, you will receive a quarantine
message weekly. You can check anytime to see that it hasn't caught
any mail that wasn't really SPAM. Postini is a flexible product
that puts the user in control of spam and viruses.

This account allows users to login to the Smith School Novell
Network, which includes any computer located in the classrooms,
conference rooms or computer labs and access to network printing. Each
user receives network space (designated as K:) for storing school
related documents. Quotas are determined
by your role in the Business School. This network space is a privilege and should not be
abused. Inappropriate material will be deleted without notice or
consideration. For questions or problems with Novell accounts, contact
the Smith IT Help Desk.
University Directory ID
Each person connected with the
University of Maryland in any way is listed in the University Directory
without having to apply for an "account" in the usual sense. Anyone
listed in the directory can
set up a new username and password at OIT's website. Your University
Directory ID will be used for most campus systems. It is also used for the following systems unique to
Smith.

accounts listed below.
Print Accounts
Faculty and Staff receive unlimited Novell printing on their
department's shared printer. If an MBA student is hired to work
for the Business School, their employer may request an increase
to their 600 page quota by emailing the helpdesk. Please include a
projection of how many extra pages they might need to print in the
request email.
At the beginning of every semester, Full-time MBA students are
given a print quota of 600 pages. If and when this quota is reached, the
student is responsible for getting a Pay for Print account. This account
is created through the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and is not
supported by the Office of Smith IT Help Desk. For more information

WAM accounts
may be used by anyone affiliated with UMCP to obtain space on the server
to store documents or publish personal web pages.
NOTE: Free dialup
internet access (ISP access) was phased out in June, 2007. You can sign up for a
WAM account
on-line.
Faculty and Staff use a variety of different campus systems in
addition to UMID. Glue, Advise, SIS, Ares, PHR and other campus account
information may be found at
