We are pleased to inform you that the Smith School's Web site www.rhsmith.umd.edu is now housed in a new Microsoft IIS 6.0 server. We hope that the new server make your browsing and content updating experience more efficient and secure. If you have any problems or questions with the site please let us know.

The message below is only for Smith School community members who need access to a Web site on our Web server.

• To gain access and edit the Web site you are going to maintain, please fill out the Web Access Request Form.

• Note: Anyone wishing to make updates to the Smith School Web site must complete FrontPage training with the Office of Marketing Communications prior to accessing the Web site. Send e-mail to webupdates@rhsmith.umd.edu to schedule an appointment. Students working on clubs and organizations Web sites and faculty members creating personal sites are exempt from this rule.
   

• Maintaining the new 'look and feel' of the Web site in a consistent manner is important, and therefore we would like to ask anyone requesting access to familiarize themselves with the 'How To' document, which is a guide to content management on the new site.
   

• The 'How To' document will not help maintain faculty personal pages or student organization sites. If faculty members or student organizations would like to convert their Web sites to the new Smith School look they should contact the Office of Marketing Communications to request a template.
   

• We no longer grant new access to our old web server. If you do need the access, please provide more detailed information including Web directory URL or Web Address in the "Comments" field on the web access request form.
